Basing a band out of two cities is difficult, but some how Seattle/Los Angeles based Band
“Xolie Morra & The Strange Kind” pulls it together like no one else can. Originally formed in
Seattle WA, “The Strange Kind” brings together classic rock sass and honest modern melodic
style, to form a sound that is reminiscent of the Pretenders, but as mind blowing and breath
taking as Cold Play, Keane and Muse. The band is relentless and their hard work shows. Xolie
Morra, Originally from Campbell CA, relocated to Seattle Washington where she met Guitarist
Zoran Macesic in 2004. In a move to Los Angeles to further career opportunities, Morra has
been awared the opportunity to work with many co writers such as Mike Green (Wings of
Gold) and Jeff Trott (who has also written with Sheryl Crow). Macesic stayed behind in Seattle
and the two continue to write and play shows as often as they can. The Band is Commonly
joined by many amazing session players such as Mike Baker (Colbie Caillat, Orianti, Alex
Band), Dru DeCarro (John West), Josh Nyback (Colbie Caillat), Alex Elena (Producer, Ruby
Friedman Orchestra, Avril Laveign), Mike Green (Producer),Riley Geare (Mayor Hawthorn)and
Roman Lomtadze (Drums). Both Macesic and Morra bring their own style and music interests
to the table and have developed a very Unique and intriguing sound. But it isn’t just the
sound that gets Attention. People are instantly taken by Morra’s captivating stage presence
and melodic range. And from the day they played their first show, it wasn’t long before there
was a buzz about them. Xolie has been described as a cross between Chrissy Hynde and
Lindsey Buckingham. Her unique ability to manipulate her voice in any direction has helped
her develop a sound all her own, incorporating instrumentation devised purely from the
power of the human voice. Xolie is also an out and proud member of the GLBTI community
and an Intersex/GLBT rights activist. Whenever possible Xolie uses her music to try to
change hearts and minds on both sides of the debates to help bring people together. Her
goal in life is to change the world through music and have some fun in the process. There
are no limitations in the writing process to try to hide who she is and what she is about.
Together Morra & Macesic are a combination set to destroy any sense of standards and
expectations in popular music.

In Xolie’s words: The boys and I write together and are never really stuck to a genre, cause
thats just borring. I personally have had the opportunity to work with a number of other
cowriters as well.

I like to get really personal with my friend’s/fans and just be myself on stage. I enjoy seeing a
huge crowd at the shows, but I LOVE the intimate acoustic shows the best, cause it really
gives me a chance to connect with people.

We are a part of an indie music collective called the XoeBean Independent Music Team. We
are hopeing to start our own label called XoeBean Records and as well as a video production
side to produce our own films and music videos. So look forward to some really funny short
films as well as great music videos and documentary films.
